Last week I spoke about being peri-menopausal on the blog. I had to have loads of blood work done and a bone density test. I saw Dr. K on Tuesday to get my results. Everything they tested for came back normal! This means that there are no "reasons" for my early journey to menopause, just genetics & that it is just my time. I am relieved that I'm not carrying any markers for Fragile X, especially what that means for my daughters. So, now we're at a let's try this approach and see how it works for you. Right now we're trying the NuvaRing which is a contraceptive device with the lowest amount of estrogen. I've been using it for about a month now and my hot flashes have all but disappeared! My headaches have been less frequent as well, which I can't complain about that.
I will have to have a bone scan done about every 5 years, which is no big deal and just continue with my annual appointments to the GYN unless my hormone therapy stops working for any reason.
Good news is great!
